Get Moving. Build Confidence. Be Part of a Team.
Where participation, personal growth, and having fun matter just as much as the final score.
Opportunities to move, play, compete, and connect
Through team sports, swimming, gym activities, active games, and other recreational opportunities, young people can build healthy habits, discover new interests, and develop confidence in their abilities. Along the way, caring staff and coaches encourage members to challenge themselves, support their teammates, and keep moving forward—both on and off the court.
Program offerings vary by Club, age group, season, and available facilities.

Our Sports & Recreation Programs:
-
Club teams, leagues, pickup games, and skill-building activities give members opportunities to learn the fundamentals of the game while developing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
For some young people, joining a Club team becomes much more than an athletic experience. It can introduce them to mentors who recognize their potential, teammates who become friends, and accomplishments they once believed were out of reach.
-
Available at the Portland Club, swimming provides opportunities for recreation, fitness, and skill development in the water. Activities may vary based on age, ability, staffing, and seasonal schedules.
-
Open gym time, organized games, fitness activities, and recreational play give members positive ways to move, release energy, and enjoy time with friends.
-
Members may also have opportunities to participate in seasonal activities, introductory clinics, golf lessons, and other recreational experiences offered throughout the year.
Activities and availability differ among Club locations. Families should contact their local Club for current program information.
Skills That Extend Beyond the Game
Sports and recreation help young people develop skills that can serve them in school, in relationships, and in future leadership roles. Through participation, members can strengthen:
✔ Teamwork and cooperation

✔ Discipline and responsibility
✔ Confidence and self-motivation
✔ Coordination, balance, and physical fitness
✔ Goal setting and perseverance
✔ Leadership and sportsmanship
✔ Stress management and emotional well-being
✔ Respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, and themselves
These lessons are often reinforced by Club staff and coaches who serve as positive role models

“Being part of the Club basketball team helped me become a better athlete, but it also helped me mature and build strong relationships with my coaches and teammates. Winning a championship was a major achievement, and the support I received pushed me to reach goals I did not think were possible.”
