A Legacy of Opportunity since 1909
For more than a century, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine has been helping young people navigate childhood, overcome challenges, and discover their potential. What began in 1909 as a single Club has grown into a network of four Club locations serving children, teens, and families throughout Southern Maine. Each location reflects the unique needs of its community while sharing the same commitment to creating life-changing opportunities for every child who walks through our doors.
While our communities have changed over the years, our purpose has remained the same: providing a safe, welcoming place where every young person has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Building for the Next Generation
As the needs of young people continue to evolve, so do the opportunities we provide. Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine is continually investing in expanded facilities, innovative programming, and stronger community partnerships to ensure every child has access to the resources they need to succeed.
One of the most exciting examples is our A Place for Growth Campaign, which will transform our Portland campus through the addition of the James and Hilla Bruni Bridge to Success Center. Designed specifically for teens and young adults, this expansion will create new opportunities for workforce development, career exploration, mentoring, and academic success while allowing us to serve even more youth for generations to come.
