Creativity Builds Confidence
Our Arts programs help youth express themselves, discover talents, and build confidence through hands-on creative experiences.
More Than Art Projects—A Place to Discover Potential
Creativity helps young people see the world differently—and themselves differently. Whether they're picking up a paintbrush, performing on stage, learning an instrument, or capturing the world through a camera lens, our members are developing confidence, communication skills, resilience, and the courage to try something new.

Our Arts Programs:
-
Our year-round Fine Arts program encourages artistic expression for youth ages 6–18 through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media, sculpture, and more. By exploring a variety of artistic techniques, members build creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Throughout the year, their artwork is proudly displayed in local and regional exhibitions, celebrating both their accomplishments and their unique perspectives.
-
Music provides young people with opportunities to think creatively, work collaboratively, and strengthen communication skills. Through access to instruments, lessons, and experienced instructors, members explore new interests, develop their talents, and gain confidence as performers while discovering the joy of making music.
-
Photography encourages creativity while helping members develop valuable digital and visual storytelling skills. As youth capture portraits, nature, culture, and everyday moments, they gain artistic confidence, strengthen their technical abilities, and learn to see the world through a new perspective.
-
Drama gives young people the opportunity to build confidence, express themselves, and work together as a team. Through weekly classes and partnerships with organizations like the Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine and A Company of Girls, members explore performance, develop communication skills, and experience the excitement of bringing stories to life.
The Skills That Last After the Artwork Is Finished
Every creative experience helps young people develop skills they'll use for the rest of their lives.

Celebrating Creativity Beyond the Club
Throughout the year, our members have opportunities to showcase their artwork through community exhibitions, local galleries, and the Annual Art & Photography Show. Many also participate in regional and national Boys & Girls Clubs of America arts competitions, giving young artists the chance to share their talents with an even wider audience.
Every Young Artist Deserves Encouragement
Creativity flourishes when young people feel supported. Our Clubs provide welcoming spaces where members are encouraged to explore new interests, take creative risks, and celebrate each other's achievements in a positive, safe and inclusive environment. LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR SAFETY PROTOCOLS.
“The Club helped me come out of my shell, build confidence, and learn how to express myself. Creative programs gave me new ways to connect with others and discover strengths I did not always see in myself.”
