Every Number Represents a Life Changed

Every afternoon, children and teens walk through our doors carrying different experiences, challenges, and dreams. Some need academic support. Others need a safe place to belong. Many simply need someone who believes in them.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, success isn't measured only by the number of meals served or programs offered—it's measured by the confidence built, friendships formed, opportunities discovered, and futures made possible.

Every number tells a story. Every story begins with a young person.

Impact Happens One Child at a Time

The true impact of the Club is found in the everyday moments that shape a young person's future.

It's the student who finally understands a difficult math assignment.

The teenager who discovers a passion for photography or engineering.

The child who finds trusted adults who listen, encourage, and believe in them.

The young leader who learns that their voice matters.

These moments may seem small on their own, but together they build stronger students, healthier families, and more vibrant communities

How We Measure Success

  • Academic & Career Success

We help youth develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to graduate from high school and prepare for college, careers, military service, or skilled trades. Through tutoring, STEM education, workforce readiness, and mentorship, members gain the tools to pursue meaningful.

  • Healthy Lifestyles

Children thrive when their basic needs are met. Nutritious meals and snacks, physical activity, emotional well-being, and healthy habits are woven throughout the Club experience, helping young people build a strong foundation for lifelong wellness.

  • Character & Leadership

Leadership begins long before adulthood. Through service projects, teamwork, volunteer opportunities, and programs like Youth of the Year, members learn responsibility, integrity, compassion, and the importance of giving back to their communities.

  • Arts, Creativity & Expression.

Whether through visual arts, music, photography, theater, or other creative experiences, young people discover new talents while building confidence, communication skills, and resilience. Creativity allows members to express themselves, solve problems, and see new possibilities for their future.
